About us
In 2016, my husband and I became parents for the third time. Our daughter, Alma, was born with an extremely rare eye disorder – congenital cataracts – and, as a result, was blind in her left eye when she came into the world.
You can read our story on the blog, but the short version is that Alma was diagnosed at the age of five-and-a-half months. Eye surgery at the age of seven months marked the beginning of everyday life with glasses, and vision therapy for her bad eye using adhesive eye patches for half of the time she is awake.
The idea for creating Vision4Kids emerged out of our own personal situation and was based upon a belief that all children should have the best possible preconditions for achieving the best possible eyesight, because better eyesight provides a greater quality of life!
