The eye patch is from the brand Kay Fun Patch, which has been developed by an orthoptist. It can be reused several times and for both the right and left eye. Moreover, the eye patch carries the CE-mark and is safe to use on skin. The patch can be hand-washed and subsequently air dried.

Usage

The eye patch can be used to treat adults who suffer from e.g., double vision.

The patch is placed in front of the eye that is to be covered, after which the elastic fixture is put around the head and the position of the patch is adjusted to ensure it sits tightly and comfortably.

Shape

The design of the eye patch features an interior chamber for the eye/eyelashes. This provides a better level of comfort. All eye patches can be used to cover both the left and right eye.

Size

The eye patch is available in two different sizes:
Small: 7 x 5.4 cm (width x height)
Regular: 7.7 x 6.7 cm (width x height)

The interior chamber is approximately 2 cm from the tip to the eye. The elastic fixture is 40 cm long and fits all head shapes and sizes, since it can extend to double the size.

Materials

The skin-friendly eye patch is made using Oeko-Tex® fabric, which is both certified and hypoallergenic. The fabric consists of several layers. The innermost layer is black and works to block light. This eye patch cannot guarantee that 100% of light will be prevented from penetrating.

The elastic does not contain latex.

The eye patch can be hand-washed using a mild washing detergent and cool water, after which it should be air-dried to maintain its shape and appearance.

Environment

The eye patch has a sustainable quality, as it can be reused several times. It is made using a fabric that can be hand-washed, and thus be used time and time again for several months.

The fabric is manufactured, dyed, and cut in the United Kingdom using environmentally friendly methods and dyes, thus giving it a low CO2-footprint.

The packaging consists of an RPET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate) box that also has a minimal CO2 footprint. It is a recyclable material and can be used to store the eye patch in when not in use.

Safety

The eye patch is safe to use. Nevertheless, we advise that small children wearing an eye patch are supervised.

As is the case with headbands and other elasticated headgear, the eye patch can be pulled down, so it hangs around the neck. This does not pose any immediate danger, as the elastic is very flexible and can be extended to double its length. But technically, the eye patch can constitute a potential choking hazard if it were to get caught on something.
